TIDA 2026 Highly Commended New Zealand Kitchens- Designer Pieta Fletcher

Our clients were in the process of designing their new home and wanted a kitchen that would act as both a practical workspace and an entertaining hub. They had strong preference for a clean, uncluttered aesthetic, requesting that as many functional elements as possible be hidden from view.

One of the key requests was a concealed scullery, accessed through a hidden door that seamlessly matches the surrounding kitchen joinery.

Another important consideration was the benchtop height. As the client is very tall, the benchtop was designed at 975mm high using taller base units, to ensure greater comfort and ergonomics during everyday use.
