Large Family Home Renovation in Christchurch

As part of an extensive home renovation in Fendalton, Christchurch, the kitchen space was completely reconfigured to improve functionality and flow within the home. Existing walls and doorways were repositioned to create a more practical layout and better connection between the kitchen and surrounding living spaces.
The brief was to design a visually striking kitchen that balanced strong design aesthetics with everyday functionality. As the homeowners were mindful of future resale, the kitchen also needed to appeal to a broad range of potential buyers while still delivering a high-end, architectural finish.

Our clients were in the process of designing their new home and wanted a kitchen that would act as both a practical workspace and an entertaining hub. They had strong preference for a clean, uncluttered aesthetic, requesting that as many functional elements as possible be hidden from view.
One of the key requests was a concealed scullery, accessed through a hidden door that seamlessly matches the surrounding kitchen joinery.
Another important consideration was the benchtop height. As the client is very tall, the benchtop was designed at 975mm high using taller base units, to  ensure greater comfort and ergonomics during everyday use.

For this kitchen project, the homeowner undertook a full house renovation and flipped the layout of the living space to accommodate the kitchen in a position that would allow for good indoor-outdoor flow.

This entertainer’s kitchen is such a fresh and modern look combining a black matte finish joinery with touches of high-pressure laminate in Sierra Oak wood look finish.
